Homeless Housing and Assistance Program

All of the homeless service providers in our community are currently working hard to protect their residents and clients, as well as provide a public good to the community at large by doing their part to reduce transmission.

Yakima County Human Services has partnered with the Health District, the City of Yakima, and many of the other providers and government entities in the Valley to provide resources and assistance in response to this pandemic. The priorities for the Human Service Department are:

  1. Create isolation and quarantine beds for those who become infected but do not have homes suitable for recovery.
  2. Reduce transmission by increasing safety and hygiene measures in homeless shelters and other congregate program settings.

For service providers seeking assistance with procuring COVID-19 related supplies, please submit a request to the Yakima Valley Needs site here. For community members seeking to provide support to our nonprofits during this difficult time, please see donation and volunteer opportunities here.

If you are a homeless program service provider with questions or concerns related to COVID-19, please reach out to us at HumanServices@co.yakima.wa.us.
