Real Property
Treasurer’s Office: For all transfers of real property, a Real Estate Excise Tax Affidavit is required to be completed and processed through the County Treasurer’s Office along with the conveyance document that denotes the transfer.
Auditor’s Office: The recording of the conveyance document takes place in this office’s Recording Division.
Mobile Homes
Treasurer’s Office: If it is not a condition of the sale that the mobile home must be moved, you will need to complete and process a Mobile Home Real Estate Excise Tax Affidavit to document the transfer of ownership. If it is a condition of the sale that the mobile home be moved you will need to complete a Property Tax Certificate of Mobile Home Movement (PDF) and obtain a movement permit. Auditor’s Office: In both instances, you will need to complete the process for titling the mobile home in the new owner’s name in the Auditor’s Office, Vehicle Licensing Division. The property taxes must be paid in full before the processing of either the excise tax affidavit or obtaining the movement permit. If the mobile home is moving out of Yakima County to another Washington State County or it is being moved into dealer’s inventory, the next year’s taxes will be collected in advance.
