Due to flooding on December 19th, 2025 resulting in a bridge failure, Nile Road has been indefinitely closed at the location of the Rattlesnake Creek Bridge. At this point in time, there is no estimated timeline for restoration of the bridge and regular travel.
Drivers are strongly advised to use alternative routes.
On November 17th, 2025 Tieton Reservoir Rd will be closed between NF-1000 and NF-1203. The closure is for the construction of a new bridge, and for the reconstruction of the S Fork Tieton River Fish Passage. The work is anticipated to go through the end of this year and into August 7th, 2026.
A detour will be established during the closure for the public's convenience, and the approved detour plan is viewable online.
UPDATE: As of 12/24/25, the contractor is considering requesting a suspension of work due to high waters resulting from recent flooding and precipitation. At this point in time, it is being proposed that this section of Tieton Reservoir Road remain closed during the suspension of work, if suspension of work request is accepted. If the suspension of work is accepted, it is likely that the anticipated completion date will be extend past the originally anticipated August 7th, 2026 date. We will continue to update this notice with any updated schedules as we receive them.
Due to ongoing bridge inspections, it has been determined that the bridge on Slayton Rd, south of Chambers Rd is no longer safe for traffic. The road and bridge is therefore closed to traffic immediately, until repairs have been made. We estimate repairs to take around a year.
Yakima County is working on receiving proper authorization to detour traffic for local property owners. A full detour map will be posted here when this has been done.
