Yakima County regulations provide that certain types of local land use permit hearings be conducted by a Hearings Examiner. The Hearings Examiner conducts:
Initial public hearings on Type 4 development applications (Rezones, Long Plat Subdivisions) and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners.
Hearings on Type 3 development applications which are final unless appealed to the Board of County Commissioners.
Appeals of Type 2 development application decisions made by the Administrative Official (Planning Official) and/or Building Official.
