The Board of Yakima County Commissioners will conduct an open record public hearing on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., or as soon as possible thereafter, in the Yakima County Courthouse basement Room 33B conference room 2a to consider the proposed sale of a portion of County-Owned Water Rights to support development in unincorporated Yakima County.
Proposal: The proposal would sell or lease 4.9 acre-feet of Yakima County's senior water rights at $10,500 per acre-foot to help Borton Fruit expand its H2A farmworker housing at its "Bow Tie" facility located at 3635 Lombard Loop Road (Parcel 20110323404) near Donald, WA.
This proposed action aligns with Yakima County's goals to support workforce housing and sustainable water resource management, and is consistent with the adopted Yakima County Comprehensive Plan.
