YAKIMA, WA – The public is invited to attend a Board of County Commissioners public hearing to offer testimony on the proposed Urban Growth Area boundary amendments to the twelve cities and towns of Granger, Harrah, Moxee, Naches, Selah, Sunnyside, Tieton, Toppenish, Wapato, Union Gap, Yakima, and Zillah. The hearing is part of a two-year Urban Growth Area update process to review map amendments to Yakima County’s Comprehensive Plan – Plan 2015 and development regulations under the State’s Growth Management Act. The County has until June 2017 to complete the review and amendment process.
The hearing continues the County’s review of the Urban Growth Boundaries for the 14 cities and towns in Yakima County. In 2015, the County began the Phase I update process. Phase II will review 12 cities and towns identified above being addressed this year as part of the 2016 amendments.
Written and oral testimony on the proposed amendments will be received up to the close of the hearing.
