The Washington State Department of Health and the Yakima Health District (YHD) were made aware of two public drinking water wells, serving two independent communities in the Fruitvale area that tested positive for E. coli bacteria.
Public drinking water wells for 101 residential connections and two businesses that border Fruitvale Blvd. are not served by the City of Yakima water system. YHD gathered test results for other wells in the area north of Englewood Ave (east of Powerhouse Rd.) or 40th Ave. (west of 16th Ave. and south of Hwy 12). The one individual well that tested positive for E.coli; tested negative on the second sample and is no longer on a boil water advisory. The Washington Department of Health and Yakima Health District continue to partner with the Raybung Community owner for safe drinking water compliance.
