[ARCHIVED] Cowiche-Upper Naches (Yakima County) Flood Map Appeal Period

FEMA preliminary maps have been issued for Cowiche, North Fork and South Fork Cowiche Creeks and the Naches River along SR 410 from Horseshoe Bend to Cliffdell. On May 15th an Open House was held at the Naches Valley Elementary School to provide information regarding flood zone changes, the risks of living or owning property in these zones, and what steps can be taken to protect yourself and family. Preliminary FEMA map updates were printed and explained to all who had questions or concerns.

A 90-day comment and appeal period for these maps will start on May 29th.  During this time you may provide comments about errors or submit an appeal. You may use the form posted on this web site (below) which includes more information. Submit your comments or appeal to the representative for your community listed the form and they will forward it to FEMA.
