ATTENTION! CHANGES TO MINOR GUARDIANSHIPS AND NON-PARENTAL CASES


Beginning January 4, 2021, RCW 11.130 ARTICLE 2 (sections .185-.260) takes effect. If you wish to file a NEW action seeking to appoint a guardian for a minor, you MUST follow the provisions outlined in RCW 11.130.  Any current cases pending under RCW 26.10 (Non-Parental Custody actions), must be started by petition under the new statute.  For more information about this process, please click HERE.


The Court employs a Facilitator who may assist you with family law matters such as:

  • Contempt
  • Custody Modification
  • Divorce
  • Legal Separation
  • Minor Guardianship
  • Paternity
  • Support Modification

The Facilitator is not an attorney and cannot give you legal advice. However, the Facilitator can answer basic questions about forms and procedures as well as schedule court hearings.

Scheduling Appointments

You can reach the Facilitator by calling 509-574-2695 and leaving a message. Your call will be returned within 3 business days. Please leave a number where you can be reached or a message can be left. If the facilitator schedules an appointment, there is a $75 fee which must be paid in Room 323 of the Courthouse prior to the appointment.

Please note: The Facilitator does not accept walk-ins. You must schedule an appointment to be seen.

Payments

You can make payments for Court Facilitator appointments, book purchases, or other Court Facilitator fees through nCourt. Please note that nCourt charges a convenience fee for each credit card transaction.

This service is secure, reliable, and fully compliant with state and government regulations.

What You’ll Need to Provide:

  • Your credit card information
  • The payment amount

How the System Works:

  • Displays the total amount due, including the convenience fee.
  • Processes and approves the transaction.
  • Provides an onscreen confirmation number and a printable digital receipt.
  • Sends an email confirmation upon request.

Payment Methods:

  • Online: Visit the nCourt website to pay by credit card.
  • By Phone: Call 800-701-8560 to make a payment using your credit card.
  • In Person: By visiting the County Clerk's office at the courthouse - Room 323.

Important Notes:

  • If paying by credit or debit card, payments made through nCourt are not automatically applied.
    • DO NOT PAY for an appointment until one has been scheduled with the Court Facilitator.
    • For Court Facilitator appointments or fees, you must notify the Family Court Office and bring your receipt to your scheduled appointment.
    • If you purchased a book, bring your receipt to the clerk’s office (room 323) to pick it up.
  • After-Hours Payments: Payments made outside business hours, on weekends, or holidays will be processed on the next business day.
