Notifiable Conditions

The Yakima Health District investigates over 60 communicable diseases and conditions that are reportable to the local health jurisdiction in accordance with WAC 246-101. In certain situations, clusters of illness (i.e., norovirus and influenza) are also reportable, especially in healthcare facilities, schools and child cares. Here you will find more information about specific diseases, what must be reported, how to make reports and other pertinent resources.


What to Report

Notifiable Conditions Statistics


Every year the Yakima Health District compiles a list of the Notifiable Conditions from the previous year and puts together a handout that contains a Monthly Case Count Comparison Report and a Yearly Case Count Comparison Report for a 5 year period.

Washington State Department of Health (DOH) - Communicable Disease Surveillance Data summarize trends in notifiable communicable diseases reported by local health jurisdictions to DOH.
